I made similar enquiries - the AC132 is also the 'correct' adapter for my K5II.
I contacted Pentax tech support who replied;
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your enquiry.
We do not know what was exacly changed on the manufacturing process but the K-AC132 is a newer version of the K-AC50. The specifications are similar.
With kind regards,
Tiago

Thank you, JohnX. That's helpful even if the response from Pentax is a bit vague. On that basis, I'll try it and report back if there are problems.
Thanks for the super-fast reply.

No problems.
I can't see any reason why the AC50 shouldn't work ok; everything I've checked points to it being identical except for the model number.
I also spoke to a someone - can't remember whether it was someone else in Pentax or a reliable source like SRS - who said they thought the change in the adapter was more to do with having to meet certain eco-friendly legislation. Could be some of the original components contained dodgy materials?
I'll be interested in your experience as I have a keenly priced AC50 on it's way from Lithuania!

No sparks. No smell of burning. Worked exactly as it does with the K20D.
Enjoy your bargain!

Thanks John. Expecting my 'bargain' AC50, (new, £35), any day.
I also have a K20D which I was looking to sell, but given what they bring second-hand decided to hang on to it and try some time lapse, hence the ac adapter.
Good to know/confirm that this ac adapter will work with both the K20D and the K5II.
