This afternoon, I watched a Carl Zeiss Jena. 20mm f2.8 Flektogon M42 lens, sell for £232. on ebay.
I used to have one of those, in mint condition - with a Hoya 77mm Uv filter on the front, and original front and rear caps.

I sold it to a chap I met, and got talking to, in a camera shop a couple of years ago.....FOR £75.!

Please excuse me, while I go and bang my head against the wall for a bit!

The Canonistas are buying them. They don't see why everybody else should be allowed to have good lenses, and not them.

All the CZ Jena lenses are going for silly money now. The 135 f3.5 Sonnars are fetching between £50 and £70. 35 f2.4 flektogons, well over £50.
Until a couple of years ago, you could buy the 135s for around £15. - In fact, I remember seeing a shelf full of them in Jessops, New Oxford St, when they still sold used stuff. They were flogging them for a tenner each, just to get rid of them!

I got my sonnar 135 and flek 35 together, boxed, in a nice gadget bag with a tripod and a camera body for £20.

I knew at the time each of the lenses was worth at least that much, but they just seem to go up and up.

odd thing is that the 35s now fetch less than the 135s, when it used to be the other way around. Certainly I rate my 35mm Flek much higher than the 135 Son. The former actually gets used, the latter I have been on and off intending to sell since I got it.
