A weak lens...

Someone told me before buying the M 28 2.8 that it was Pentax's poorest piece of glass and that I should go for a 35mm instead. I looked at a lot of my street photography pictures and 21 to 31 seemed to be the best length for me. So I bought a 28mm for around 35 quid. After shooting with it extensively for three months I have to agree with my friend. Its quite poor only getting reasonably sharp at F5.6. It does however suit black and white if that makes sense? For my eye anyway the tonality is much better. My search for the perfect street lens continues. A DA 21 might just be on the cards after all

The K35, K28 and K24 3.5's are all lenses that should have been surpassed by the generations that succeeded them - but those K's all stand up superbly on digital today
