A Waddon Swan

The Waddon Ponds, on the Sutton & Croydon border in South London, is a small haven and respite from the busy main roads that dominate the area. I was lucky early this week that this one swan was very ameniable and was happy to parade around right near the ponds edge .....

Great detail there, Nigel. I think that lens is great on APS-C - I'm pleased I followed your example!

Cheers.

Thanks Philip, its the lens that stays on the K7 mostly now .... very versatile!

Thanks also Don .... 'needs'? Now that's always a difficult one to answer. But 'wants'? Thats easy! Yes I want a K1 .... but the K7 is holding out in the meantime

I especially like the first one with the orange in the reflection and the lovely rich blue water, a very amenable subject!

Lovely crisp shots there, Nigel, and rich colours. I wouldn't let your K-7 hear you mention the K-1 while it's working so well.

Shhh! Yes you're right, the K7 doesn't even know there were better cameras that came along after it. It seems to not care and carry on regardless!

Thanks again Peter, thank goodness for the histogram ....

The K7 is just fine in bright light as in this scene. But in lower light then it was simply blown away by the K5.

Fantastic trio of shots with no 1 being a superb image, I think the credit goes to the photographer though

The shadows have lovely rich depth to them. I prefer the opening image with the beak reflection
