A Tree??

I'm struggling to see the tree in this (apart from the actual wood of the table top!) It looks a bit grey, in need of a contrast boost (or a wipe over with some Danish oil!)
Speaking of 'seeing things' within natural patterns, this local news story caught my eye: link
I found it quite comical to think that the supposedly almighty creator would choose to reveal himself in such a way....

I rather like this. I don't know what you have done to it, but the pastel shades and low contrast work well, in my opinion.

It is the sort of picture I love and like to take but only for my own viewing. I would never be tempted to ask for comments. It is very subjective.
I like it and thanks for showing it.

I agree with Pentaxophile, I think a bit of a contrast boost would help.
Interesting shot though, and the more you look at it the more patterns you see!

If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

It's a nice composition but I find it very soft. I would prefer some more drama and some crisp, sharp focusing that reveals more of the fine detail.

Could be a bit sharper. I find close-ups need, if anything, to be slightly sharper than, say, a landscape. I do like the etched patterns and muted colours, though. Might be worth shooting again with stronger, more directional light but I realise this may not be possible. Sometimes we just have to work with what we've got!
Best wishes,
Andrew

Hadn't noticed it was a little soft on my laptop screen, but it is more evident on my desktop monitor.

I have tweaked the contrast and the sharpness and the image does look better for it.
The tree I saw was the grey section to the left with the trunk running up the middle and branches radiating out from it, bit abstract i suppose but there you go. Any way many thanks for all your comments.
