A the Locks in Lockdown

I decided to take the *istDL2 and 40mm out with me on my daily exercise ride last Friday.
I've not been taking a camera with with me until now as I don’t stop and genuinely don’t view it as an excuse to go out picture taking, but I decided to vary my route to take in the canal this time, so thought there might be opportunity for a few shots.

Although it seems that many people around here think that the lockdown is optional given the groups of people I encountered set up on the towpath fishing, and couples and families having picnics. Not to mention the groups of motorcyclists out in the lanes

There's something about the texture of old wood and metal that makes them far more interesting than concrete and stainless steel. I particularly like that first picture because the contrast between the texture on the flat surface and the handle makes you think of all the people who have gripped that handle over the years (before we had to think that doing so might contaminate it with a virus...).

Keep taking the camera, there's no reason why you shouldn't. I've been taking a camera on dog walks ever since getting a digital many years ago and don't intend to change just because it's now called 'permitted exercise'!

The camera is still working well too.
Good shots, particularly 1 and 3.

Very nice close detail shots
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thanks for the comments all, I've quite enjoyed returning to the simplicity of the old *istDL2.

(oops, just noticed the typo in the title, should have been 'At' the locks....'
