Hmm... whereas I loved your 'Open and Closed', I'm not keen on this one at all I'm afraid.

To my eye, not enough of it is sharp, and somehow the shape isn't all that pleasing either - a bit too 'blobby' (technical term, there )

So it's not quite a macro, not quite a flower. If it was all sharp, it would just about be salvaged by the texture, but there's not enough of that.

Sorry, I like a lot of your shots, but not this one.

Sorry Stephen - but it is your own fault - you have created a level of expectation with some of your excellent recent images that makes me look at this one and think - not one of your better days and I largely agree with Chris.

On the positive side - I like the colour of the tulip against the black and the very tip which looks like somebody putting thumb and forefinger together and the almost peach skin texture.

If it were in the gallery and posted by a newbie - I would probably have only stated the positive - but I am sure you would want an honest opinion based on what we know of your ability to produce an image.

I am going to post a few later - and hope you will be just as honest - gulp!

Thank you for the honest comments fella's, This shot is bending the rules slightly, it is almost macro, but with a very narrow depth of field, usually shoot around f16 for these, shot this at f7.
