A rare breed?

I was out on a bike ride this afternoon and I saw something I haven't seen for a long while - another Pentaxian! I stopped to have a chat and it turns out he lives around the corner!

So, perhaps we are not quite so rare as we think? When was the last time you spotted a Pentax user?

Yesterday at Blists Hill Victorian Town. I don't go particularly looking for Pentax users, but we sort of tripped over each other.

Last week at V Festival, guy was shooting for I think rock n blues magazine with i think a k-r or k-x and an fa100mm.

When I was in Dubrovnik in June I saw quite a few - perhaps something in the air attracts them there. All types of Pentaxes were in evidence, from several old 35mm cameras including an MX, an ME Super and what looked like a K1000 (but I could be wrong on that one) through to the modern DSLRs (K-r, K30 and K5 variants) and even a couple of Pentax compacts.

They were significantly outnumbered by the massed hoards of the Canikons, but there were more Pentax users there than anywhere else I have been recently.

I just got back from a holiday in northern Italy. There were 3 DSLR users in our group - 2 Pentax and 1 Sony. The only Canon user I spotted had a rather nice new mirrorless APSC jobbie.

Today in ilam in the Peak District, spoke to a older gentleman who was using the new K500, which he bought yesterday and also his first ever Dslr.

Today in Sheffield at Norfolk Park there was a Summer Fayre that Andrew A, Neil (gtis) and myself went to. We all had Pentaxes of course and met an older gentleman with a K30. He said he also had a Canon, but liked the Pentax better and had several other Pentax cameras.
