My new to me lester dine 105mm macro arrived today, struggled to find something to shoot as its too early for bugs here yet, I did find a ladybird, on the hydrangea, so i took a couple of shots, windy today so the bush was moving a lot.
Looking forward to learning to get the most from it.

I saw a ladybird the other day. Really wanted to snap it with the new to me ringflash but couldn't be bothered climbing up the stairs to get everything ready. Curses!

Great shots

Cheers Haris, cheers David.
Haris that's sooo bad 😂😂😂😂.
David, Lens is mint, looks great, focus is well damped, seems lovely to use,
Just need to see if I need to adjust my rig as it's a different lens, front element is closer to the front, so I might need a new coffee tin 😂😂

Great detail and colour in those Derek.

Hopefully there will be loads of bugs about this year...seems to be a decline in numbers globally, going off chatter online.

Regards

Karlo

Yes, the lack of bugs doesn't seem to bother most people - some applaud it - but we have to remember that they form the bottom of the food chain. I am going to make a 'bug hotel' with lots of environments this year so there should be some photo opportunities. Let us know when your special ones emerge Derek.

I've done something similar in my garden, I have purposefully left part of it wild. With branches and bark and sand and a few other bits to tempt as much as I can in. Looking forward to them coming out and you will of course see anything I manage to get.
Bugs are absolutely essential for all of us.

Superb shot Derek, maybe worth cloning the bit of twig just visible to the rear of the Ladybird, takes your eye away from the subject,
