A college friend of mine from my Durham days gave me his old film camera gear. A nice little set-up, although almost no surprises. The exception was a genuine Pentax helicoidal extension tube. which I am very pleased about. Andrew's sister had not long paid for the camera to be serviced, and so it was good to go. Now loaded with a roll of Kodak BW400CN.

Yes, I know I should have dusted it all first. Photos taken with a K-3 fitted with a Pentax-M 100mm f/2.8 lens. An M-series lens seemed appropriate.

I've managed to get a genuine Pentax M42 helicoid, but the K version is MUCH more useful..
Third party M42 ones are now quite common

I acquired a Swiss custom-made one in M42 from the 1980s. Smooth as silk but, as mentioned above, the extra flexibility of the K fitting would be useful. I've never used it, strangely enough. You have now reminded me to do so!

Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

The K Helecoid is very handy for slide copying along with Side Copier K although some of the latter have a helecoid built in. I bought mine new in the 70's. Still as smooth as butter.

I seem to remember it had it's own instruction manual (or it was part of the K tubes manual).
