The first two pics I used flash. All hand held.

Only had the lens a few weeks and I am very happy with it.

Nice shots, especially the second one which is a good angle and sharp where it counts. The Sigma 105 DG EX Macro is a very nice lens. It's also great for portraits if used wide open, it has smooth bokeh and renders skin tones beautifully.

I sold mine when I bought a Pentax 100 macro and a 50-135, but I sometimes wish I'd kept it.

2nd one has a lovely quality. I wonder if it would benefit from warming up a bit?

Agree with others - second one is really good; however no 1 is an interesting little critter - not seen one of them before!

some good shots there , the first looks as though it could be grasshopper family from the rear legs and antennae

Thanks for your comments I think I have got the bug for macro...ha ha.

I only have to nip out the house for a few minutes to get pics. Then spend some time trying to identify them.

In order of appearance:- speckled bush cricket, hover fly & thick legged flower beetle.

I nipped out again today. Loads of ladybirds on a bush and a hawthorn shield bug. Not seen a shield bug in donkey's years.
