....the four wheeled variety, so sorry to disappoint those expecting some amazing macro arachnid images

Just messing about experimenting with hand held shots in low light without flash whilst tinkering in the garage and decided to add a couple of earlier images to make up a themed set.

(All with the *istDL2 18-55 apart from the interior shot which was P30 and Zenitar Fisheye)

I think it's no.1 and no.3 for me. I love the subtle lighting in 1, picking out the details of the car, and reflections in the lights. And I really like the shapes in no.3 (I have no idea which part of the car it is!) it makes for a really nice abstract shot.

Unfortunately the distorted cockpit does nothing for me, my eyes are constantly flitting about trying to make sense of it. In shot no.4 my eye is drawn more to the well lit floor than to the car. Nice idea as a composition but my eye is drawn away from the car.

Thanks for the comments Poppy, I tend to agree. No.1 was the only one I took much care over as an image rather than just a reference shot on progress. No.3 is actually the cylinder head off the engine, not something you would normally see. As well as the problem with the brightly lit floor, I didn't manage to hold the camera particularly still either in the last shot either so was not very sharp as I was hoping for along the body line. I might try some more along similar lines over the weekend if I feel suitably inspired.
