Great capture Paul, what a lucky boy you are to be in the right place at the right time,

Nice shot; good job the SHawk is not one of your regular birds otherwise you wouldn't have many other birds at the table!

Thanks guys, the female sparrow hawk stayed a good 30 min while she devoured her meal. The problem was it was a dark day and she stayed at the base of the privet hedge, still I was quite pleased with it as it was a ISO 10,000 shot and taken through a window, just glad it was the K30 which handled it well.

Fantastic shot, especially given the ISO used. That K-30 looks pretty impressive in low light.

Thank you David and yes it is, I cannot understand why the K-30 is not more popular given how good a tool it is for the price.
Thanks Renster, it was about 15 feet away and taken with the DA 55-300mm @ f6.3. Taken in Raw and processed in LR4.

The DA 55-300mm is one of my favourite lenses, but I would
never have thought that it would cope with the low contrast
at 10,000ISO like that.... at f/6.3 as well. I am amazed
