Isn't there a hotshoe mounted EVF for the Q?
Wouldn't (or perhaps 'couldn't') that work on the MX-1 with a small firmware update?

No, there are no electronic contacts for one on the Q. The viewfinder is an optical one, a very high quality optical one at that.Isn't there a hotshoe mounted EVF for the Q?

I also prefer a view finder, but as the screen is of the tilting variety, it does provide extra facilities to offset the loss.
But it has not been as much of a problem as I expected, it does brighten up when you focus a shot, I don’t know if that is standard on better cameras.
I will get some pictures up soon, one thing to note it does do shallow DOF quite well.

Sounds positive. So much so that I have just bought an Optio W30 off Gumtree so I can have a practice Hi Andrew

Only to walk out with a MX-1.
I have to say it produces amazing picture quality.
