I would support Dr. Mhuni's view on this one.

The theme of Public Transport is likely to mean different things in different countries, which is part of the interest of this forum being international.

Daniel Bridge: Green bus:
...is that bus some kind of museum piece, parked for display only? The flat tyres and lack of tyre tracks seem to point in that direction.
It was a private hire one, used to take wedding guests to the reception (the building in the background) and home again. As far as I know, the tyres weren't flat.

Well judged, a tricky one again this week. We await the next round from John 'Cut and Paste' Riley!

Thank you very much, everybody. I'm happy you liked the picture

Congratulations for every participant.

PS. It is not exactly the same shot but not far from it either (the second one https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7198&highlight= )

Perhaps that will be the next subject - all entries must be 'cut and paste'

Thank you for the 2nd place, the picture was taken on the travelator that takes you to the Waterloo & City Line at Waterloo Station. It was taken as part of a job for a company that audits LUL advertising.

Well done to John & Lilly and all the other entrants

Congrats to the top 3! Again, I'm learning from everyone's pictures and thoughtful judging. I regret not being able to enter this week. Would've had ample opportunity if the theme had been "Soccer Moms with SUV's" instead...

Really three excellent images this week in the podium. Congratulations to John, Deecy and for Lilly Ann, and of course for Montecarlo, Amilner and Galoot (my favorite image of the week).

And for Martin: one of the best judging work of all the 46 competitions! “Sin pelos en la lengua” (without hair in the tongue).-

Best regards.

Now that is what I call a job - you get paid for taking competition entries

I could try to convince you, that I noticed that detail, and therefore punished him by making him first, and leave him with the dreadful task of judging next round. But i must confess: I missed it.

Sorry Dirk, maybe you should rethink that remark

It's better I do not explain what LUL advertising means in The netherlands.

Martin.

Well despite the editing error, duly noted for next time!, thank you for the first place.

Sorry about the delay in setting the new competition, but I have been out all day.

But I shall now start a new thread...
Best regards, John

This picture could have been great if......, you had shot from a higher viewpoint, so the ship would have been loose from the horizon. And it could use an overall contrast and color boost. Now it looks to flat for my taste. But as you said, you didn,t have the time for some work on the picture. To bad, it deserved it.

.
Fair comments, and appreciated. I did think of not entering as I was getting ready to go away for the weekend. I'll have a play this week and re-post on "Your Photos" .

When you say, "you had shot from a higher viewpoint, so the ship would have been loose from the horizon.", what do you mean by "loose from the horizon"?

Oh...and Congrats to John. I really liked that photo too!
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

A higher viewpoint ( if possible) would have prevented the topside of the ship obscuring the river shore. Generally speaking it eases on the eye when the main subject is loose from the background.

Martin.

Thanks for the tip, I'll bear that in mind...although I couldn't have got any higher.

I must admit, I don't hold much hope of winning these competitions ( well, not in the near future ), but I do enjoy entering as it forces me to think about what I shoot and take on board tips like this.

Now to find a seaside shot. I think it'd be cheating to bring out my "Blue" entry
