@ Matt - you wouldn't want any of the ones on there right now, they're all rubbish I heard. Better let someone with a lower budget pick them up instead...
Which Lensbaby do you have? When SRS were selling the ones on a Hoover tube at a knock-down price I nearly went for it. I'm thinking of the newest 'ball-joint' one, though. (Goes without saying that we're talking glass doublets here and none of the plastic rubbish:lol

Sounds a bargain to me for probably one of the best lenses ever made.Yes, I do mean the 28mm shift. I emailed Mifsuds about it and got a reply that it is £649, ouch.

I've got the Lensbaby 2.0 Hoover tube - funnily enough from SRS when they were selling them for £39
The quality is actually suprisingly good in the "sweet spot" and it's quite intuitive to use for snapshots. I think the ball-joint one would be much better for work where you actually have to slow down and think about things though; tripod work, macros, etc. I just figured that for the amount of use it'd get then under 40 quid was about what I wanted to pay...

Four 28mm shift lenses went on ebay in Jan/Feb last year, all for under 300 quid (bar 7 pence on the most expensive one). Not seen one since (although I do not watch ebay all the time so that doesn't mean all that much). With the weaker pound I guess they would go for quite a bit more now.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Mine cost me about £300 inc P & P couple of years back. ACE had one it's Bath shop window at £400 for 3 or 4 months not long afterwards, which made me feel I'd not over bid.
I've not seen one for a long time either, even so pitching your price at £649 does look a bit optimistic. Mind you, the price of rare (or highly regarded) lenses does appear to have drifted up in some peoples expectations - like the smc A 24mm with a BIN price of £249 (free post) - about £100 over the highest price paid for a simular lens in the last 4-5 weeks (one of yours I think Simon)

As for overpriced lenses, how about this one? Annoying that she refused to change the inaccurate description (it isn't an M-series lens but a K series) claiming the 'M' just means it is manual focus.
I got my example a few weeks back for 66 quid

Yep - that's the trader I had in mind. Also got 2 other smc A 24mm lenses at £169 I've just noticed. Real mix of selling styles - almost if the data base doesn't have enough examples in it for a particular lens, it goes out with a low starting price, rather than a very full BIN price.
Loks like I might of caught a cold with most most recent puchases - cleaning costs > than purchase costs

Win some, loose some. I had a SMC Takumar 135 for a nice price, but it had oil on the blades. The SMC-K 135mm f/2.5 was also a nice price and is perfect.
I chickened out of doing the Tak myself and got Robin at Harrow Technical to do it. Perfect now. I was thinking of buying the case for it from the same seller as the over-priced f/2.5. At least oil on the blades is fixable whereas fungus can leave marks.
Kris.

Matt, someone posted software that did this on here a month or two ago,
perhaps someone else remembers the thread. It was around the time of the Polaroid faking software.

Shim,
It was me
It was AlienSkin's Bokeh filter. ePhotozine review here. Trouble is it's around £140
Thought I'd have a go at regular "Lens Blur" in Photoshop. The trick is creating a decent depth map first and the lens blur filter will use this to simulate the shallow DoF.
One software is "Focal Point", IIRC. Also expensive!
ePhotozine announcement here.
Just Google for "tilt shift photoshop" and you'll get some articles

Yes, I do mean the 28mm shift. I emailed Mifsuds about it and got a reply that it is £649, ouch.
