The bigger Jessops still carry it, and a company called Silverprint specialise in film, developers and traditional paper. The stuff is still around and not too difficult to source, especially online.
Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Fantastic bit of kit.
Is it called a Horseman because you need a packhorse to carry one and a man to take the picture?
No problem with tilt and shift perspectives there I would guess. Have fun.

Well my trusty Bandit 1200 will do the carrying. It is the tilt and shift facility that was my rationale for going down this route. I hate converging verticals! Is it called a Horseman because you need a packhorse to carry one and a man to take the picture?

Fun will certainly be had.

Guess you can call off the hunt for that 28mm shift now then?
Nice camera anyway - what lens(es) did you get with it?

Fantastic piece of kit. For serious architecture you need this sort of camera as it not only enables correct verticals but the plane of focus can be adjusted too - all to much greater extents than any tilt shift lens on an SLR can
Good luck

In my former job, where I did some product photography, we sometimes hired a professional photographer from Oslo. He used the Sinar large-format camera, similar to the Horseman.
It never stopped amazing me to watch this guy tilting and shifting the front and back plates to get just the right perspective with perfectly parallel lines. And he managed a lot more than 2 fph.
Brings back happy memories.

It came with a 210mm lens (equivalent of a c. 90mm on 35mm) which is not really what I need. I am now looking for something in the c. 90mm range and may well sell the 210mm to pay for it. Although as you know, selling lenses is easier to say than to do... Nice camera anyway - what lens(es) did you get with it?

He had the advantage of knowing what he was doing. I am going to be on a steep learning curve. It is a bit difficult to merge into the background with one of these. It never stopped amazing me to watch this guy tilting and shifting the front and back plates to get just the right perspective with perfectly parallel lines.
