OK, I can link to an image on my website, but not one in my Flickr account (I get the box with a red cross in IE which will take me to the link) but nothing in Firefox.

Any ideas?

Use Photobucket, it's much easier.

The easiest way to post an image from flickr is to:

a) go to the image on flickr at the size you want to post it
b) right click on the image (in Firefox and Iron at least, I assume other browsers too).
c) choose "copy image url"
d) come here, click on the image button to get the image tags in your message and then paste the URL between them.

Pretty simple really and certainly less of a pain than setting up yet another image hosting account...

It seems there is a new way to DIRECT load images without Photobucket or Flickr.
Can someone upload the method for me and any other thickies out there who don't know how.
Thanks and CHEERS Vic.

Click on the 'image' button below the posting box.

Click on 'choose file' - that shows your files on your computer's hard drive.

find the photo that you want to upload click on it then click open.

Then click on insert image.

I cant do screen shots I'm afraid.

Kind regards

I've found the easiest way is to click the "share" tab above the image you want, then just copy all the text from the "Grab HTML/BBcode" section and simply paste it into the comments box on here

It is too simple. Just copy the code and paste it wherever you want your image with the link to be placed.

Its the same code provided above.

You can now directly upload an image into the forums. Just click the Image tab and select the image from your computer.

Thank you one and all. This looks a lot easier than through PhotoBucket.

johna,

you can't. You have to put your images on a hosting site like the mentioned PicasaWEB, Photobucket or any other site that allows to use direct links to the pictures.

Hope that helps,
Prieni

If you can see this image you can upload from your hard drive, you may have to be a member to do it, when you click on the 'Image' button you should get a screen that enables you to Browse your computer, there will be restrictions on the size of file you can use I would think.

Screwdriver, you are replying to post made more than five years ago, things have moved on quite a bit since then.
