It would be interesting to see how it differs from a setting of 2.8.

Under reporting the SR setting (not sure if 2.8mm is possible) will have no adverse effect on the image. The reason is that the sensor shift will be minuscule.
This is why when folk ask what they should set a zoom lens to, if they are using all of its range and do not wish to change the setting for each picture, the answer is to set it to the lowest zoom FL

Is this set on a Q camera? I didn't think it was possible on a K mount digital camera.
Edit: Looks to be shot on a K-3 iii, is this the only one with this setting?

The K-3iii gives you four digits to set for the focal length rather than the set list like the original K-3. As I was changing it from 50mm to 28mm I accidentally set the first digit to 8... I was very glad when I realised what I had done as my initial reaction was something dire had gone wrong.
