Some photos as requested.
55 - 300 is virtually unmarked, almost like new.
It has tiny flecks of dust inside like any used zoom. They have no effect on the performance.
I have uploaded some (full resolution) shots of the lens and box.
And some shots taken with the lens this morning, mostly wide open.
It has beautiful bokeh even at F8, much better than my Sigma 85 1.4 portrait lens at any aperture! (Sigma used for the first shot)

All those images are straight out of the camera.
Image 5 (focused on the end thumb ridges) really shows the superb performance and buttery bokeh. View it at full resolution (your browser will probably resize it), you can see the grain on that Sigma from 3 metres away.

SMC DA 55-300mm still available. Sounds like it's important to get a good one. Something you can't check with a new one. This is a good one.
I was able to compare mine to a DA*300mm and it measures up extremely well. I literally had to check the EXIF readout to confirm which lens was used in the shot I was looking at. Both lenses wide open!

Blythman, that's a cracking idea!
OK, K-x is staying with me for a while longer, sorry
Yes, the 200mm and the 135 are both exceptionally sharp and in great condition. Piece of cake to use with the green button. But they are both in a range I never use.
Now... IR and a K-x.......
