50mm FA1.4 vs FA1.7

Apologies if this has been discussed to death in the past but I'd be interested to hear from people who have done a direct comparison of these two lenses. I have an FA1.4 and I'm generally happy with it. However, I've been looking at an FA1.7 and have heard that it's generally thought to be the better lense - particularly when looking at sharpness at wide apertures.

Yeah, this is true from my (limited) experience:

Second ever pic I took with the lens after this fella tried to mug me on the way home from picking up the lens from JohnX! Apologies for the tiny DOF but it's my 2nd lens after the kit and I was desperate to try out f2.4.
