50mm 1.4 won't focus on infinity

i used Alan Marlowe to sort my FA 50 f1.7 not long after i bought that, excellent service and fair prices as well as being well thought of by many on this forum, just phone or email

been a few years since I was here! I have a gorgeous Pentax prime lens 50mm SMC FA 1.4
Recently I have not been able to focus at infinity either by manual or auto focus.
Otherwise the lens is working well.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it a send away repair job or are their any tricks I can try myself?
