For those interested while scrolling I came across this lens. I have one and it is really nice.

Have a look here.

All reviews have praised this lens which is made by Schneider-Kreuznach

If it was made by Schneider-Kreuznach then I would expect a marking saying 'Made in Germany' and not 'Made in Vietnam'....

my GFs sister has the lens and by all accounts she likes it, the forthcoming DA* 60-250 and the fact I already have Sigma EX 70-200 and 100-300 meant I didn't go for it even when Jacobs were selling it for 50 pounds and Currys for 30 pounds

I think it's reasonably well known that the Samsung lenses are re-badged/re-packaged Pentax products. Many of their lenses in recent years have come from their factory . . . in Vietnam.

All my Scheider-Kreuznach lenses are 'Made in West Germany', fabulous glass (50mm Xenar, 28 and 35 mm Curtagon, and 135 mm Tele-Xenar), shame my Kodak Retina Reflexes have packed up

Have you tried that place that makes lens adapters? To save three lenses, it would be worth shelling out a bit of money.

I don't remember the name at the moment, but somebody else will, I am sure.

Here we are:

http://www.srbfilm.co.uk/

They'll do one-off adapters. I know an ex-Pentax user who couldn't wait for the *ist D, and went over to the enemy. He had his 15mm and 85mm lenses adapted to work on the copier.

So he's still able to take quite nice pictures.
