I use my left eye, being a very left sided person. Let her do what comes naturally unless it is having a detrimental effect on her results.

yes that's my strategy thoughout her life
Suggested she open both of them

Just visited her again and she showed me dozens of shots.
had got her in Av and Manual from the get go.
Focus on AF button.

Hey presto !!! 90% in focus and well exposed
Entry level camera that clicks straight away !
Well done Pentax
Very nice camera.

Seems to preserve very good shadow depth and contrast.
My K100D is feeling nervous...

You need to look at the print comparison, that way the size of the photo is the same and then so good as all cameras preform equally.
That's right, the "print" tab is the relevant one for doing meaningful comparisons as it normalises the different resolutions.

However, even when doing the correct comparison the K-7 doesn't fare as well in high ISO as a Sony A500 (which may or may not use the same sensor as the K-x).

But high-ISO isn't everything and I'd always go for the K-7 rather than the K-x.

Pete, good to see that you are making sure the the future generation is on the right track. Not happy about the recent price hike for Pentax lenses but then Sigma has some great lenses and if one doesn't shy away from MF then the world is your oyster with all the Takumar gems floating about.

That is a very nice lens indeed. Being a macro, I don't mind the MF at all. Except that I prefer to have AF when using a macro for another purpose, e.g., portraits.

That Takumar pic you posted looks great!

Would have been good, but a 70/2.8 is even better. Can't wait to get that Sigma.
