31mm 1.8 focus problems???

Does any 31mm 1.8 owners experience inconsistent focus problems with this lens eg. sharp on f4, unsharp on 5.6, better on f8 and worse on f11? The lens has been tested on a K10D, KX and K7 under controlled conditions with the same results... please let me know...

I had a similar issue with my Tamron 24-135, except it was terrible on f8 as well, but was quite acceptable on f3.5 and f4 and almost completely disappeared in the range 50-135mm.
Is it from the beginning or just occured?
