1stD upgrade?

Here's a general question:

Looking at the *1stDs, I think that the sales of the *1stD are about to stall - I cant see too many people paying almost double for a similar camera....

So, if I were Pentax I'd upgrade the *1stD to make it retain its flagship position (like canon have done by replacing the 10D with the 20D). Surely pentax could use the same (excellent) body, but put in a bigger buffer memory, more pixels etc.... ?

Any one heard anything like this?????

I'm a dedicated pentax user but frustrated at thier DSLR offerings and am really tempted by the Canon 20D.... I wish pentax would bring out an equivalent model....

I must say that this new model (the *ist DS) is a cracker, and easily the leader in the low-priced SLR group. As a result, the *ist D does look expensive by comparison. Although the D would still be the camera of choice for serious photographers, the quality of the DS, and the much lower price, would be very tempting.

I suspect the D will get an upgrade fairly soon.
