Hi Matt,
I know. I am very, very tempted but don't tell George. He will be laughing his head off and saying "I told you so!"

Laughing? Not at all. I've just ordered my second D body before this publicity cleans out the last stocks. In penning a eulogy to the D, I convinced myself, if nobody else, that one couldn't afford NOT to buy one at these prices.
For those who haven't taken the plunge, all you really need (assuming you have Pentax lenses already, and a computer) are the body (£599.99), a card (say £50), some NIMH batteries (£9.00 approx inc charger from 7day Shop) and a card reader (£6.00, if your computer doesn't have one). Total £665.00. It'll pay for itself in a year or less.
Of course, if you have a couple of good bodies, they'll offset the price further. Buy an old Spotmatic for occasional nostalgic forays back into film.
Go on, you know you want to!

Hi George,
I know, I know. However, you did forget to mention one very, very expensive cost - that of the divorce

If anyone is interested in a wide angle zoom, Digital Cameras are seeling the FAJ 18-35/4-5.6 AL for £79.95 on a clearance special. Although they say it is for the istD, as far as I am aware it has the full image circle for film cameras so will work with any of the SLRs that can use the J lenses. Details here:
