The genuine lens hood is £35 from SRS.
I had one of these lenses as my step up from the kit lens. Always found it excellent. Changed it for the 17-70 eventually.

It shows pretty consistent image quality across the range its real strengt. In particular it has excellent distortion and falloff characteristics for a wide angle zoom, coupled with reasonable control of chromatic aberration, and impressive macro performance. So if your priority is image quality, and the wideangle range floats your boat, this lens is difficult to fault.Lens is on ebay now. link to cheap flower hood.Genuine reason fo sale (upgrade to camera with bigger sensor )
