14 more to add to my project entitled 'When The Fun Stops' down Barry Island. I popped down yesterday and the sun was shining pretty brightly, it was even warm. Not the best conditions for the project but nether the less I managed to get some images that I'm happy with.

I think your project probably contains more photos than some of us have taken

Another nice selection - quite varied in style with 4, 5 and 9 being my favourites - some super mono processing there Gareth

Thanks Lenny
Yeah, I need to calm down with the images now

My FB post with these has drawn attention. I'm going to stop posting there. This image out of all of them! Apparently it's private property and I've slandered them! I took it on public land, there are no signs that states its private property and even if it was, I'm on public land and it's hardly slanderous, it's a broken sign and a few spare chairs!

Another interesting set. I've restrained an urge to comment on previous sets because it seemed sensible to see and comment on the full collection of 'When the fun stops'. So have you finished yet :wink??

Just a thought, though, re the photo that has upset someone of FB. It clearly isn't slander in the legal sense and, for the reasons you give, it's legally OK to have taken the photo. However, businesses (and seaside resorts - I used to live in one) work hard to create a brand image (illusion??) that brings people in. Anything that runs counter to that could have a detrimental effect. There is always the scruffy place 'round the back', or the out of hours or out of season side of things, but no business wants that advertised widely - which is what putting it on FB etc. for all to see does. And if the owner is struggling to keep the business afloat, anything that might just put even a few people off could be disastrous for them. Indeed, one possible interpretation of the discarded sign and chairs is that the business has closed for good. So probably best to be careful with what goes onto social media, out of care and courtesy for people who might be affected, not for legal reasons. You've got enough superb work to choose from!

Thanks Steve!
Nope, haven't finished shooting yet
I'm a creature of always returning back to the same location as every time I go there, I could see something different or 'better' than what I've created already so I'll always go back but aim to park in different zones so the path around is altered. With wet weather setting in this'll help convey the feeling I want to portray so shooting for me still has a few months legs in it.

Good point regarding the other part of your reply. I have chatted with the person who works there, turned out to be a full time employee and not a business owner. I won't go into the in's and out's but I have put a disclaimer on the image saying that the interior is first class (which I know already as I get my ice creams from there!) as well as promising to shoot it during the summer when the image will be in stark contrast to this one.

Someone said if people are talking about your images you're doing something right to me but I don't want the constant negative comment here and there so I think you're right about being more careful with what images go up on there. I thought it would have been the funfair owner who wouldn't have been pleased with the images I captured in their space TBH!

These are great , remind me of the very small version they had at Severn Beach and how that deteriorated then pulled down altogether
