Any Pentax Users SW London, Surrey

There's always Richmond or Bushy Parks. Wisley has never really held great appeal to me, don't know why. I have membership for Kew and Barnes, great when it's quiet first thing on a Sunday, hell when the kids arrive. Back to Wisley, I hear they sometime open early for photographers.......

Yorkshire Sculpture Park Meet

Not that many trees at YSP Barrie, it's not the best of places for Autumnal photography, it's OK if you like statues and sculptures though :D I'd have thought Thorpe Perrow would have been much better this time of year, despite YSP been far easier for me to get to. Having said that if a YSP me...

Old Friends

Back in 2014 a few of us Pentaxusers met up at Newcastle Quayside. The event was brought to mind by a chance meeting the other week with one of those present. I hope it all goes well Stan. All taken with the K-5lls which I still use. I'm hoping by PP has improved since then, so I can present so...

645 or 67 to 35mm adapter - help and advice needed

The MZ5n and MZ3 are current bodies and can be found at very reasonable prices. (Try Amateur Photographer if you are UK based). The MX was discontinued in the late 1980's and the LX was discontinued perhaps 3 or 4 years ago, although for some time only very small quantities had been sold in the UK....

Kodachrome Rules OK?

I've just had two Kodachrome films back (via Switzerland) and the turn round time was six days - better that the E6 films that I sent at the same time to Leicester and are still not back. Why do magazines invariably ignore Kodachrome when doing film tests - fine grain, unsurpassed sharpness and det...

Digital imaging software - Which image editing program do you use?

There's a product to match the needs of every worker - if I'd always got it right over the years I would have saved a small fortune..... Isn't that the truth? You and me both. Don't get me wrong, I do admit PS is good, (and probably not quite as slow as I made out <grin> ) But I also occais...

Composition lessons - Where can I learn more?

Just a post to all you good people... Does anyone know where I can learn more about the "art" side of photography? I've been snapping for yonks, and technically I have no problems, but I would like some way of learning better ways to compose and arrange - to make the best of my technical knowledg...

Composition lessons - Where can I learn more?

Apart from what has already been said, spend a lot of time looking at photographs that others, who may be expected to be good judges, think are good. Then try to identify what you like and dislike, and what they like and dislike, and why. I spent quite a bit of time attending workshops, etc, f...

Where are all the Pentax users? - Can more traffic be generated?

Welcome! Hope you get some good information from the site and the chat on this forum. Yes, it can be a bit quiet at times, but on the other hand when someone posts a question there is usually a reply and a solution found by somebody (sometimes even me!) My wife Sue and I have used pentaxes for a ...

Local Area Groups

I do agree with John that this will only work with enough people ( I have also bee involved in running camera clubs and well know the frustration of too few members!). Would it be worth setting up the topic area on the discussion board to focus on this? and maybe a short plug in the next edition of ...

auto 110 lens adaptor? - auto 110 lens adaptor?

If you mean to enable 35mm lenses to be used on the 110, not to the best of my knowledge. The size of the 35mm lenses would absolutely dwarf the 110 SLR, and I'm not so sure they would be any use anyway. The back focus of the 110 camera is very, very much shorter than the 35mm ones, so even if an at...

Film Developing - Travel

I've used the chemist (that's like a pharmacy) next to the Earl's Court tube station (not Boots). If it is print film, they will do it in 1 or 5 hours (there is a price difference) and if it is slide film, they will take about 3 working days. All development there includes a replacement of Agfa prin...

Remote control of Z-1P or SFXn - Firing Z-1P from 10 yards

Interesting. I went looking for a Pentax Forum just for this very question. I have an MZ-7. I want to go to up to 100 feet, (30 Meters). I have discovered that a small two pin connector I have plugs into the top two pins. I tried a 10 foot piece of telephone wire. (solid wire), jointed the two...

Remote control of Z-1P or SFXn - Firing Z-1P from 10 yards

Thanks for the links. My asumption was that I would pre-focus and expose on something like a bird feeder. Then all I have to do is connect pins 1 and 3 to take the picture. :)
