Pentax-F 50mm f1.7 sharp excellent lens with a few restrictions £60 ono

Whilst I dont wish to be negative, what does your lens offer that say an A Series 50mm f 1.7 can't, which can be had for around £30? As far as I can tell, your lens is difficult to focus manually, cannot use auto aperture either. So effectively its an M lens!

Pentax-F 50mm f1.7 sharp excellent lens with a few restrictions £60 ono

hi bigyinn thanks for the input, I see your point. however, the AF does indeed work from f.17 to f4 (to f5.6 and even f8 given enough light) as for the manual focusing, I think someone could easily rig up something to make it much easier to focus. I'd do it myself but I'm really not at all mecha...

Asahi Takumar 100mm F3.5 Lens with Original Case - Extremely Rare - Good Condition

For sale is the extremely rare Asahi Takumar 100mm F3.5 M42 Lens. Reportedly, this lens was never put into full production and as few as were made! I received this lens from my father as part of his Pentax collection but would like it to go to a good home where it will be appreciated. The...

FS: Pentax 55-300 f4-5.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Tamron 17-50 2.8

No problems with AF on the 18-35 Tim? Gets heavily criticised in the Pentaxforum review. Inconsistent in a manner that can't be corrected by AF adjustments. Some users reporting they need to focus at 35mm, and then zoom out to the focal length they want to use Wanted to wait until you'd sold ever...

FS: Pentax 55-300 f4-5.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Tamron 17-50 2.8

Focusing, it's something I fought with for ages. I used to get quite a few images that were back or front-focused, so I would calibrate all my lenses, but still get issues, and re-calibrate them again, and again. It's not just a Pentax problem, or to specific lenses, I've upgraded body and lenses an...

FS: Pentax 55-300 f4-5.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Tamron 17-50 2.8

Thanks for posting such informative information Tim, I found it very interesting, particularly the bits about focus issues and lack of consistency of focus. This is something that has plagued me, more so on some lenses than others and more so on some cameras, particularly the K-5 Mk1. I also often...

FS: Pentax 55-300 f4-5.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Tamron 17-50 2.8

I spend a day to calibrate the lens and now I'm happy with. Only sometimes on distance around 5 meters have problem with back focus and not all the time. Lens have small AF problem with K-3. Most K-5 users don't have any problem with AF. Personally recommend this lens. Regards, Irek.

FS: Pentax 55-300 f4-5.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Tamron 17-50 2.8

Thanks for taking the time to get back to me Tim. The 18-35mm would be an event/wedding lens for me. Would be used handheld, focusing via the viewfinder. So, still not sure ... lol

FS: Tair-3 300mm F4.5 lens

This lens looks very similar to the Tair 3-A that I have. Mine had very stiff focussing and I had to strip it down and then clean & regrease the focussing helicoid. Hi, Sorry for reviving an old thread but I've just purchased a 300mm Tair 3-A. It has fungus on front and rear lens and is ex...

FS: Tair-3 300mm F4.5 lens

This one also is not a native M42. The Russian designation (say) Jupiter 11A or Tair 300A would indicate that it does indeed have an interchangeable mount and you can replace it with a Pentax K version if you so wish. The suffix 'A' is the giveaway. Should you ever do so, DO NOT undo the grub screw...

F/S Pentax SMC K 35/f3.5

I'm surprised that you haven't had a nibble on this. I have one and it's a seriously sharp lens wide open. Really smooth to focus too. And a little bump :) Derek

For Sale (or swap) K20D

Declining health (an aggressive form of MS) is limiting my photo activity, and forcing me to re-think just what kit I can still handle. The K20D has to go (boo hoo) and then I shall work my way through the lenses that will become superfluous, Pentax K20D Body. This is “like new” with only 2750 sh...

WTB: smc F or FA 135mm 2.8

Mmmm to be honest, both are made of metal, and the FA one seems to be made with a higher quality. And the FA's focus ring is rly wider and way simple to use. Of course, IMHO. :)
