50mm SMC-A F1.7
50mm SMC-A F1.7 Apart from the rubbed paint visible on the inner rim, just outside the front element, in the first picture, and the slight wear on the mount (top left), it's pretty much perfect, optically and cosmetically. No other scratches, marks, fungus, oil (whatever that is), and the apertu...

FS: IR-modified Pentax *ist DL
This is a modified Pentax *ist DL with shutter count 7198. I have replaced the original IR-blocking filter with a new Schott RG830 optical filter, so it is effectively an IR camera without requiring a filter on the lens. You can use the viewfinder normally - the filter is after the mirror an...

For Sale: Pentax K30 f/2.8 (€175, £155)
My bank manager is glad I didn't see this one first... I'll be interested what you think of it Algi and whether it's iconic status is justified. K. It depends on if I can focus it on the K-5 without needing more than -10 correction which is the maximum  At 30mm it should be OK at f/...

For Sale: Pentax K30 f/2.8 (€175, £155)
TBH with the 28/3.5 on the K-m I just used to leave it on infinity and f8. Most subjects would then be in focus by the time I was far enough away to get them in the frame. I am now having to get used to actually focussing it on the KX, as without the crop factor there's a lot more frame to fill!

For Sale: Pentax M50 (€75, £66)
Simple really, I sold a lens which was showing signs of fungus which I had not noticed. Don highlighted the fact as is his right and asked for a refund which again I had no issues with. He was willing to send it back to me. I am mortified by this whole episode so suggested he keep as a gesture of go...

28mm SMC-A F2.8
Optically, this 28mm SMC-A F2.8 is pretty much perfect. A couple of dust specks, but that's it. No fungus or damage. Mechanically fine too. Focus ring smooth and nicely damped, aperture clicks up and down as it should. Cosmetically, I thought it was perfect too, until I came to take the pic...

Wanted lens for istds
I don't have any experience with the 28-200, but the 50-200 is great value for money. Mine has always performed well. If you are after a bit more reach the F100-300 might suit your budget too (generally good examples go for ~£80) It is a bit heavy, & can be slow to focus but otherwise works OK. (I ...
