Wanted: Sigma 70-200mm

If you are not worried about HSM then have a look at the Tamron 70-200mm .. it is apparently sharper than the Sigma macro varieties. IMO the only Sigma 70-200mm lenses worth having are the non macro variety as they put an extra element in to get closer focusing but at the expense of sharpness at the...

Wanted: Sigma 70-200mm

You maybe correct about the quickshift .. I am not sure. It's a nice feature but not something I use on my Pentax lenses anyway but I suppose it may be useful to some. I find it very useful for wildlife when the focus is lost in dense foliage with small subjects, also when using Teleconverters with...

Wanted: Sigma 70-200mm

Have since seen this reported on the other Pentax forum a few times now. Me too - which is why i went for someone's non-macro version Although I recently read something that said the new Sigma 70-200 HSM (OS version) has dropped the macro facility so hopefully it is back up to the standard of t...

Wanted: Sigma 70-200mm

Although I recently read something that said the new Sigma 70-200 HSM (OS version) has dropped the macro facility so hopefully it is back up to the standard of the old non-macro. Have you seen the RRP? A shade under £1500

All my Pentax gear now for sale as I'm switching brand

ISO re the jessops tubes I will have a little play this evening and get back to you. I bought them to extend my macro capability beyond 1:1 with an autofocus lens The triplus tubes work best with my 50mm lens as everything is manual (other than the aperture on the ap.ring) Talk later

All my Pentax gear now for sale as I'm switching brand

I'm guessing my DA L 18-55mm AL kit lens on my K-x is the same as Lowela's. If so, it has no aperture ring - only a zoom ring and a focus ring. Consequently, no, it won't work at all well with extension tubes that have no electronic aperture-control contacts. I have an old 2x teleconverter which ...

Sigma 100-300 EX f4 IF

It's very fast focussing though and not the noisiest of lenses to focus anyway.

Sigma 100-300 EX f4 IF

You got rid of the 70-200mm and 100-300mm for the 60-250mm? Back to this question.......Good as the Sigmas are, the DA* is bloody wonderful....not the lightning quick AF of the Nikon, but doesn´t break my back either..... Getting the DA* was a good move....
