Something to think about........

I can't see the problem with the rankings. Who really cares what they are called? It is a bit of fun, that's all. If you don't like it ignore it. I never even look at what ranking someone has, maybe because, as the owner of a forum myself, I understand that they go purely on the number of postings a...

Something to think about........

I think there may be a clue here. When you say close the page that implies that you have left the site, so when you return the buttons have reset. The button means "new posts since last visit" and not "unread posts" so when you read one you need to read the rest before you leave, otherwise they will...

Something to think about........

I use FF3, and btw.......right at this moment the notification button of this topic has jumped back to add notification. which means I have to click on it again, to get mail when someone responses. ( this also happens frequently) And believe me, It isn't pushed by me, accidental :D Martin.

For the bikers amongst us......

Very nice Karl. I bet it sounds even better than it looks too with that nice short Termi on it ! Took it out last Sunday. Came back with a Termi induced headache. Best headache you can get :D

Sensor Cleaning

I just have the small Arctic Butterfly designed for APS-C without interchangeable heads. I use my Metz 58 AF-1 in modelling mode off the camera to check for sensor dust (really shows it up if there is any). Plastic bag is way OTT. I swap lenses everywhere and Don't really worry about it. The back of...

Samsung and Pentax. New,

Is the market approaching saturation? Will the supply problem with credit cause the bubble to burst? Is there any dramatic and essential improvement there to be had? Some interesting questions John and worthy of a good chin wag over a pint at the May meet. I don't think that we are near to satu...

I spoke to Chris about their Kenko and i must have picked him up wrong because i din't think it worked with SDM. Quite possible confusion with the Kenko 2x adaptor which SRS sale. This DOES NOT work with SDM, and because the camera 'knows' a lens is SDM it does not revert to using the worm drive and...

Help With Street Photography

I think the trick is to look like you should be doing whatever it is that you are doing including taking someone's photograph. I can't do it but the good street photographers seem to. A friend just goes up to perfect strangers and asks to take their photograph and gets away with it as well taking...

Help With Street Photography

I would agree with 'Gartmore', but suggest you take the 18-55mm too. I still feel this lens is under-rated. It will give you a good range for street - shots, get in close at 18mm and take a step back for 55mm :D

Still batting for Pentax!

Both my brother in law and father in law have both quizzed me about getting DSLR's lately, and I'm pleased to announce they both went for Pentax systems! My brother in law had a £350 budget, and so he went for the K-m and kit lens/bag/SD card etc from SRS, and he's now a happy chappy. His first ...

Today's Independent

 I have to ask my friend if he had a fight with a crazy roo as too :) (he lives in Australia) Once he said he went with his wife camping; they put up a tent, found some wild fruits in the forest - so they pick a basket of them and went back to the tent. After short time they heard some noises o...

What would you do?

I had to send my birth certificate to a pension provider last year. They posted it back to me and gave me a tracking number. I had to wait twenty one working days before I could claim money for a diplicate. Six months later the original turned up in the original registered envelope with a note on th...
