Thanks to all who entered this week's competition. It wasn't easy choosing an outright winner, nevertheless got there in the end.

1st Place The Dome by ken2390. An iconic building which has stood the test of time.

2nd Place John and Margaret Sentamu by JAK. Certainly thinking outside the box with this image of a living icon. Almost top spot.

3rd Place St Winifred's Shrine by noelm. I liked this image and the explanation helped in defining why it is an icon.

Highly Commended Subramaniam Swarmy Temple by KALAS Because it looks such a bright cheerful place to celebrate a marriage.

I hope you will agree with my choices and for the reasons given. Over to you ken2390

Well done to ken2390 for the win, noelm for his podium spot and KALAS for the HC. Also thanks to Stan for the second place, interesting subject and judging.
Of late it seems to have become the norm now not to provide comments on all the entries. Is there a reason I may have missed for not doing this? Comments can be very helpful for those new to the game.

I did consider comments on all the images but as a lot of them were similar in content and owing to the fact that in a prior competition one of the entrants went off on one and this is quite probably my last competition I decided against comments on the non podium places.

Thanks for 3rd place and congratulations to the other podium places and HC. Again a good subject with some interesting takes. Like JAK, however, I miss the comments on all the images which seems to be happening more often. It is getting someone else's thoughts on your image (good or bad) which is why many people enter these competitions. It is not just about winning. (although it is nice when that happens)
Sorry to hear it may be your last comp tyronet2000. I enjoyed looking at your images.

I personally would prefer comments, which can be technical if you like, but just any explanation of how the judge feels about each image. It can be very helpful and it isn't often that someone takes exception to what is written. But, agree or not, the judge is still the judge and they are doing what we ask them to - that is, judge.
Best regards, John

Congrats ken2390, iconic is the word with an interesting composition too! Worthy winner. And extended to JAK and noelm, not forgetting KALAS for that interesting temple. Thanks to Stan for the challenge and judging exercise.
