Good one to start it off. The expressions on the face and the position of the hands, you just know some major information is being passed on, while the lady in brown is doing her own thing. For ISO200 there seems to be a bit of noise but it’s well spotted and captured.

On the rooftop – june
A good idea with the reflections. It’s a shame the pushchair blocks the babies face and the lunch table. Maybe a tighter composition would have made more of the interaction between the two women.

MUGS - geordie01
I really can not put my finger on why I like this one, but I do. It’s reminiscent of the advertising you see in coffee shops. There’s a bit of intrigue in what’s going on in the blur behind the cups and the monochrome suits as well.

Puss in boost – simonarron
Like the title. Cats always seem to know the best places to chill. You have some amazing detail in the fur and that small gap between the eyelids is he keeping an eye on you? As you say the ISO is odd, but noise has been handled well.

Two more days to the summit – AxelLuther
Certainly fits the theme well. The framing by the stones is novel and the whole thing is well taken. Again would a tighter composition bring out more in the main subject?

Just resting my eyes for a moment – swarf
Do all cats sleep with one eye open? Again good detail in the fur and I love the paw leading you in. Also while the subject is nicely isolated by the black background the cushion adds a splash of colour.

I wonder if her coffee was short measure. Great detail in here, even down to the red nail varnish and the cigarette ends. The girls are definitely the subject and I think it’s highlighted by the contrast of straight lines and curves.

Are you trying to bribe the judge… it might just work…but I’ve never had Duff Beer. Crisp and clear but are the wonky angles in the background intentional.

Not the normal pose for a squirrel and it reminds me of those cowboy films, listening for the sound of horses hooves. The eye, being the spot in focus, leads you into another good and unusual wildlife image.

Camaraderie – johnriley
Some real character full faces here with a sense of fun. It’s good that no 21st century eye wear or stuff is on view to spoil the period look.

At the Beach – kosh
Lots of colour and you can spend quite a bit of time going round working out what each group are doing with their summer break. I think you have my problem with wonky horizons though.

pit stop – Jim-w
Another one where you can roam around taking in peoples expressions and wonder what’s going on. The image is well focused and exposed, showing lots of tones in the trees but I’m not sure about B&W for this type of shot.

Boys in Doorway – JAK
I wonder what is coming down the hill they are certainly concentrating on it. Good positioning of that spot of colour against the neutral back ground. I’m amazed that so much detail has been retained in the transfer from the original medium. Have you noticed the hair on the left hand doorway?

A Sit Down – Dodge69
The little things make this one interesting, the repeated line in leg, Sax and arms, the drum and the water bottle not quite connected, and the stare to the end of the bench you are not allowed to see.

Royal Break – timcx500e
These characters are wonderfully out of context with their surroundings making a well spotted image. I don’t think the harsh lighting has done you any favours with the lighter elements of the picture.

Made because you can see the action is still going on with the blurred figures in front of him. Very well taken the detail showing up in his kit and arms is fantastic.

They definitely look as if staying in the pub would have been a better bet. Although as Mr Connelly says “windswept and interesting”

Another good out of context subject but I can’t get my head round the treatment.

Tea For Two – Frankie
A nice sense of an English summer afternoon, being spent at leisure. Even down to the relaxed poses of the people inside the cabin.

Break Time – Noelcmn
For some reason I was not able to view the larger version of this entry so it’s difficult to comment. But it certainly fits the bill.

Done it many a time! Great expression well framed by the open window. Then when you look through the windscreen it’s B.O.G.O.F. Great capture and very well processed.

The hands say it all. You can just imaging he’s found a nice cool ally then you come along being a nuisance.

Has he moved from Barcelona? I think something is lost here due to the match of skin tone and cab interior.
