Thank respected judge in the first place! This is that neither is true desert! I managed to win only because of this same desert-can make it my chip? Congratulations winners as well, very happy to be in such good company!

The full judging is here Not too many entries this time, but perhaps I should be thankful - it's quite a task coming up with these comments!
Axeluther - Camp Los Alamos
Good shot, I can only imagine the heat in that caravan... and the smell of the chemical toilet It does look very 'New Mexico'.
Sandanista - White Heat
Good capture, good idea. The flame has come out well. The composition is perhaps a bit 'obvious' and straightforward though.
John Riley - Blue Heat at Cyber Control
Very striking shot! The 'glare' is there, but 'blue heat' is perhaps stretching it a bit... I'm a sucker for anything Dr Who related though!!
Aliengrove - Sunburn
This shot has a real sense of oppressive heat. The tones of pink in the sky are really good. Only negative is the vehicles on the left hand side, they're a bit awkwardly placed on the edge of the shot.
WVBarnes - Larnaca Salt Lake Sizzles
Another good shot with oppressive heat and harsh sunlight creating stark silhouettes. Perhaps cropping the foreground stones and making the minaret more prominent would have made a slightly nice composition though?
VonBobCat - Heat Stare Glare and Flare
Very creative image John. The smoke combines pretty well with the model's face, and the title's as clever as the PP work. I think I would have scored it higher if the source material was a bit higher resolution and the light on the model provided a bit more modelling, but great effort.
Dr Orloff - Bastille Day
Excellent fireworks capture Dr. O, and a good composition with the castle and trees at the bottom of the shot.
Drofmit - Blinding Heat
This does have a sense of heat and midday sun, but I think perhaps an alternative angle would have made for a more interesting shot? ALthough heat and glare is the topic, I think I would have preferred less burned out highlights and colours at the expense of darker, more intense shadows here.
Coker - Burn
Good effort Roger, the flaring burner fits with the theme quite well. I can't find any major negatives, it's just a bit too much of a 'commonplace' shot of a hot air balloon for me.
Stopher - Journey into the Sun
This is a great shot that needs to be viewed large to appreciate. I love the way the car is picked out in the darkness by the reflections. This could have won if the competition subject was 'sunset' or 'fading light', but...
Arsenal - Who Wins?
his conveys the harsh dry conditions of the desert (or what looks like a desert) really well, and the struggle for survival in such a hostile environment. Simple and effective with the sun's position aligned on the prickly bush, nestling between sand dunes.
Paulgee - Reflection
Another bit of extreme post processing! Quite a harsh treatment, but the source material is more like a mellow sunset than anything harsh or glarey
Dr Mhuni - Incense Tray, Colombo
I like this shot a lot. It doesn't fulfill the competition brief as well as some of the other shots, but its a fine documentary image of smouldering incense. I like the tidiness of the background.
Guy - Fireplace
Hi Huy. You've captured a flame here, but I just feel the image lacks the definition and structure to show off the movement and shape of the flame really well.
Nipper - Into the Glare
The problem with Pentax lenses is they're so flare resistant, we have to make our own lens flares in PP! In any case, a very nice composition here. Good use of the Sigma 10-20mm.
Malcolm Leader - DB Tower
More lens flare This is a good architectural shot. I think getting rid of the bit of building on the extreme right hand side would strengthen the composition and create a nice contrast of scale bwteween the DB tower and the clock tower.
Marklj - Tree
Superb shot Mark, especially viewed large. Not as extreme in its depiction of heat and glare as some of the others, but I like the simple yellow and blue colour palette very much.
Boyo2406 - Hot Rods
Lots of heat here with the hot reds and yellows of the cars and the heat haze from the engine. Maybe cropping out some of the background trees etc would have created a slightly more striking semi-abstract image.

In first place, Who Wins by Arsenal. This conveys the harsh dry conditions of the desert (or what looks like a desert) really well, and the struggle for survival in such a hostile environment. Simple and effective with the sun's position aligned on the prickly bush, nestling between sand dunes.
Second place, Sunburn by Aliengrove. I like the way the hot desert sun pervades this urban scene through a haze of dust, backlighting the vegetation at the roadside. The hot conditions are made very visible.
Third place, Camp Los Alamos, by Axeluther. This does not look like a comfortable caravan to be stuck inside. The surroundings are parched and bathed in harsh sunlight. The position of the sun makes it look like it is wilfully shining down on the caravan, but compositionally I think it might have been better a little to the left.
'Highly Commended': 'Tree' by Marklj, 'Incense Tray' by Dr Mhuni, and 'Blue Heat...' by John Riley
