Description
wow - what to choose? its the summer solstice, the world cup, wimbeldon and many other great events locally, nationally and internationally

lots of activity, colour and crowds - so lets go for snippet from a crowd, show me thousands of people crowded at a sight of religious worship, or a queue at an ice cream van, or single out someone eyecatching in a crowd of shoppers. Show me a vast crowd, or show me isolation whilst surrounded by hundreds

take to the streets comrades, show me life!

will put up my comments a little earlier than expected - as I wont be able to put them up for another 24 hours otherwise.

Mikes Stag Do – Johnriley
First shot out of the blocks – with everything I asked for, colour, crowds, action and more...
Gives me memories of the end of many a nights celebrations. Love the after shot processing on photoshop too

Dalek Hoard – GlynM
Hey, its a crowd of colourful daleks, again hits the bill – great use of photoshop, very inventive shot

Got it – AxelLuther
Great crowd shot, always good to shoot at a different angle. Quite agree with your sentiment in the photo info. Reminds me of new years eve in London – thousands of people watching the fireworks and thousands of little screens in front of them as the video the fireworks on their mobiles

Never again – denial bridge
Wow – crowds, colours, isolation and movement – you seemed to have really captured the atmosphere of a very active museum on a very busy day. This shot has a lot to say and show

One of many – ericp
Isolation within a crowd. So much to see, yet makes an instant statement. Great candid shot, well spotted. Love the dark tones. Spot on focus

The show – Darlene
Great crowd, lots of colour in the parrots and the people – all those spectators yet only a dozen watching the parrots.

Aliens party on a rose plant – dep 1699
Thinking literal and lateral – its a crowd, good use of macro and DoF. Great surprise

Barmy Army on Tour – chelseablue
Very apt as todays closing date is the date of the England v germany match (different sport I know, but same patriotic passion) – the yellow side of the crowd aren’t doing much

Allez les jaunes – DrOrloff
Nice crowd shot, interesting use of colour popping and going for yellow makes a nice change

School sports day – Dr.Mhuni
Lots of colour smiles and activity, lots for the eye to see

Homeless in the Piazza – nathanever82
Isolation in a crowd well capture – great piece of social documentation. Great composition

One of the crowd – aliengrove
Great topic to select, very infective smile, well portrayed. Difficult to watch the crowd when the sports on the track

Wimbledon 2010 – Rapala
Is this Henman Hill, or Murrey Mount? Must be a world record – how many people can you get around one TV. Lots to see in every aspect of this shot

District Sports – beebee
Good candid team shot – with some concentrating on the events, and others not!

So, places
1st - Homeless in the Piazza – nathanever82
says so much yet doesnt speak - great shot, wonderful feel to the eye and provokes the brain

2nd Never again – denial bridge
a very close second, when looking at this photo - i can hear the feet and voices of the crowd. very well captured

3rd One of many – ericp
again - says so much without speaking - movement and stillness, crowds yet isolated well captured

thank you one and all for competing

The deadline has not yet been reached, so this is slightly premature.

If any more entries come in they will need to be considered.

The deadline has now been reached, so the result as given above is good.

Nathan, well done, please start thinking about your competition subject, but please wait until Bill_And returns later to press the appropriate button on his own competition. Then you will get the link to start your own and continuity will be maintained.

Would future judges please remember that there is a built in process with the competitions, so they can't be finished early, it just doesn't work!
Best regards, John

Awesome!
thank you so much Bill, I am really very happy about this one!

This photo is part of a series I shot in Florence, and I am now really looking forward to complete it, and then hopefully do an exhibition somewhere...

Thank you, and well done to all participants!

That's a great shot Nathan, a worthy winner. Very pleased with my second place, even though I seem to be in 'denial' now.

Well done with the Judging Bill_And, even if it was a bit too eager.
