Today I met up with some retired colleagues for our monthly gathering. Things took a dark turn when we got on to the state of our poor world. As an antidote we changed tack and decided to focus on what has made us happy! In that vein I’d like to see your images that for some reason make you happy. I’m not constraining what the image type is but it must make you happy in some way. And if you feel able to say what or why it is that makes you happy that would be appreciated but only if you want to. Usual rules. Please use a Pentax or recognised clone. Closing at midnight (UTC) on the 16th March. Go on make me happy! |

A first place - thank you! That was actually an expensive photo session. It made me think that a close-up view of a DSLR might be quite terrifying to a baby. So I had to buy a Q...
Strange that there were fewer entries than in recent competitions. Are Pentax users an unhappy bunch??

My brief thoughts:
Happy Birthday Frankie! – johnriley A great start with a shot using the diminutive Pentax MX-1 the exposure looks perfect to me, the happy expressions, and grouping works very nicely, doesn’t Frankie looks great for an almost 83 year old, hope I wear that well! I’m not at all surprised you were happy with the shot.
First Grandchild – Lubbyman What a beautiful shot of a precious infant fast asleep, this must be a treasured image of a very happy event. And my don’t they grow up so quickly.
Seal Watch – Nigelk – Being close to nature can be of great benefit to mental health and this looks a perfect family day. Happy memories!
My Happy – Simonmac – That’s a far-away look and spot on focus on the eyes – impressive using a manual fast 50 lens! A thoughtful image of a treasured person in your life.
Little Sparrowhawk – Noelcmn – Not only did you spot this rare very small bird of prey you managed to catch an image of it! No wonder you are happy.
Face in the crowd – pipinmels – How do you get a marching band with a drum-kit, well here’s one! And a Happy Fasnacht to you to!
