Description
We are living in strange times… and the weather is very odd on an almost weekly basis.
We all must have weather oddities in our archives…. Giant hailstones possibly , freaky clouds, rivers where roads should be because the systems couldn’t cope……
I am sure you can think of others… credit will be given for people who submit photos of active events and not a couple of hours after.
Pentax and Ricoh cameras, usual weekly rules apply…. and here’s hoping everyone will need to draw from their archives.

Thank you for entering this week's competition...
This will be short and sweet because I have to move 400 50cm logs from one end of the old house to the other.... and stack 'em!! Before any unforcast rain comes [none visible on the radar]... and before today's sunshine brings the temperature up to unworkable!!

Aftermath by David Trout....
And off to a good start here... with water pouring over that wall by the Co-op... looks of determination on the faces of the rescuers.
Good decision to swop steam for stream!

Outrunning the storm by BraydenBise....
That is a solid looking wall of something.... is it a sandstorm, is it raincloud.... whatever, BraydenBise, I hope you turned the car around and followed the lorry!

Fog and a mirage by MHOL190246
I know Minsmere well but have never seen anything as strange as this.... but the solidity of that sea fret is cutting the picture in two. Very well titled as the ground beyond appears to float in the sky, enhanced by the gull in flight!

Boggle Hole by John Riley
Wow, that's black over Will's mother's.... can you see me now Mother!!?
The pool of sunshine in the foreground is making the stormy weather seem darker than it was possibly.... but impressive nonetheless!!

Snow Drifts and Road like Ice in May by Sue Riley
Now that looks cold... the drift has been cut through by a machine... plough or blower?
But the road looks like glass... I hope you had spiky boots on.
I think this monochrome is actually a colour photo... there seems to be a hint of brown in the second level of snow over at the left... and the two poles on the right look blue-grey.
But, not so strange.... [the rent for the lands of the Munros in Sutherland was a "Snowball in June"]
But not usually this deep!! Where were you, Sue??

Storm coming by retsoor
That's where the Lakes get their water....
Nice composition, but not so strange in greater scheme of things... and certainly not up in the Lakes.

Dark times by Noelcmn
That's a pretty massive landscape... look at all the wee pylons marching into the distance... and what a strange mix of clouds with the rain streaming down. And either a hint of brightness in the far distance that could be be arriving.... or departing.
I scrolled down, Noel, to read the info and as I looked up, the top of the picture had been cut off leaving only the slash of brightness in the far distance and emphasised the stormclouds.

The winner is David Trout with Aftermath... the most on-brief picture.
Second is Brayden Bise with Outrunning the storm
And joint Third are John Riley and Noelcmn with Boggle Hole and Dark Times
And HCs to the rest... this one was difficult to judge!!
Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...
"Give a thousand photographers...
the same camera, lens and scene...
and you'll always get a thousand different takes!!"

Just noticed the result, I've had a very busy few days and didn't check earlier in the day. - I'll come up with a topic for the next competition soon. Thanks for competition topic and your critique Tim. Congrats to my fellow podium pals.
David
