Commemoration by MHOL190246. A different interpretation of "flag" but recognisably so. Good perspective and composition creates a bright and breezy floral image.
Flags by sueriley. A really active composition full of people and flags. Looks like Haworth, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and the many flags set the scene. The muted palate works extremely well with this image.
Flying the flag by Nigel. Even without the additional information this is clearly an Italian street scene. The flags convey the fervent support for the local team and their brightness contrasts beautifully with the old alleyway. Only shame is that the figure at the bottom has been cut off.
The Black Country Flag by simonmac. A new flag for me, perfectly caught against the bright blue sky. Exposure handled well with the bright sun. The bunting adds to the scene but, being picky, I might have got rid of the little bit of red on the left hand frame.
Backlit Flags by Noelcmn. An interesting study in form, this image relies on the shape of the flags rather than any bright colours or designs. The strong backlighting and the clouds anchoring the bottom of the picture add to the effect.
Remembrance by Drofmit. An image that underlines the role of flags in ceremonial events. Good composition with dynamic interplay between the people and the symbols of remembrance.

And so -
1st = Flags by sueriley
2nd = The Black Country Flag by simonmac
3rd = Backlit Flags by Noelcmn
All others = highly commended

Thanks garethjmorgan, you are correct it is Howorth, very crowded and hot but a good day. Well done to everyone, a nice set of photos.
Best regards

Thank you for second place Gareth.

I love the winner, it shouts of care and pride.

And I do particularly like Noel's backlit flags.

Thank you for your salient comments and judging.

All the best!
