Boats on water by sueriley – The colour and shape of these boats make for a good photo. The soft reflections almost give the bottom part of the picture a watercolour painting effect. Perfect exposure and pin sharp throughout.
Ship of the line.(lines of the ship) by vic cross – I have never seen anything like this before quite bizarre, it certainly made me look twice when I saw it. The kind of thing that instantly makes you want to photograph it. The fact that it is a colour photograph makes it stand out.
Wrecks by Nigelk – An excellent photo that came very close to winning. The subject and composition of the boats along with the exposure and depth of field made this a great entry.
Mighty Monty by garethjmorgan – This photo could not have been framed or cropped any better. The freezing of the action along with the expression of the kyaker caught the moment perfectly. Well done.
Skippool Creek by johnriley – Nice to see a different approach. A well composed subject given a dramatic twist with the HDR effect. I think this works particularly well for the sky.
Canoe by MHOL190246 – Another good action shot. A bright colourful subject was needed to make it stand out from the almost monochrome background and the bright yellow certainly did. I like the water trailing off the paddle giving the photo some movement.
Prime Ace by Noelcmn – A real beast nicely captured in this photo. It is put into perspective buy the three tugs escorting it out of the harbour. Colourful shades of blue all around.
Low tide by davidwozhere – A peaceful tranquility that can only be captured at low tide makes this photo almost timeless with the various boats randomly scattered in the muted colours of the mud and foreground rocks. I like the fact that the nearest boat looks a traditional wooden one adding to the atmosphere and mood of the picture
