(1) Michael. McCaigs Tower. Nice one. The trees frame the tower well and the path/road leads the eye up to the folly really well. I like it.
(2) Gareth. The Stumpery House. Nice one hidden away among the ferns in the woods. The greenery sets off the stone and stump folly.
(3) Rodney. Coventry Character. Nice photo. but not exactly a folly. (Oxford dictionary) "Costly ornamental building"??
(4) John. Nice plaque. Costly? See number (3).
(5) Paul. Portmerrion. Definitely Costly Ornamental building (s). I like the inclusion of the chess board. Good DOF from the balcony through to the trees.
(6) John. The Clock Tower. Now that is weird. Maybe the gravedigger was on piecework and had to keep an eye on the time. I like the way the tower is framed by the trees. As you say "Maybe a folly" I'd like to think so.
(7) Noel. Quasi castle. QUASI> Seemingly, Not Quite, Almost. It looks the part. American design Yr. 2000 I believe. A modern folly.
1st. McCaigs Tower.
2nd. The Stumpery House.
3rd. I can't split them so Portmerrion and The Clock Tower.
So over to you Michael.
