Hi. All. Once again you've made it tough for me. BUT here I go.

JAK. Unusual chimney on a barge. I like it. very atmospheric background. Nicely out of focus.

Perspicador. Country house with chimney stacks. Nice chimney but but not the main subject. The house and the cables distract from the chimney.

MHOL190246. Nesting Gulls I like it. The young aren't ready to fly yet. The contrasting pot gives it interest. Maybe a little less sky for me.

Pipinmels. Uznach. More birds nesting in chimneys. Multiple style chimneys & nests. Quite nice.

davidwozhere. Victorian chimney pots at Beamish. Different pots on the same stack with their names and numbers clearly visible. Uncluttered neat and tidy.

davidtrout. Chimneys on the Tyne. Fantastic array of chimneys sadly dominated by the Sage music centre. Nice but not quite.

Flan. Back against a gable. This could have been up there with the top 3 if you'd cropped out the post and the cables.

johnwnjr. Chimney pots preserved. Beautiful set of of old decorative chimneys. Good DOF.

dromfit. Roof aliens and ray guns are attacking. Man after my own heart. I often enter something for fun and this hits the spot with me.

Newbiek50user. Nice solid stack but once again dominated by building and tree.

Simonmac. I quite like it with the face at the top. Once again dominated by the building and no EXIF.

Noelcmn. Industrial chimneys. Nice one. Well spotted rust and all.

1st. dromfit. Roof aliens and ray guns attacking.

2nd. JAK. Unusual chimny on a barge.

Joint 3rd. davidwozhere. Victorian chimney pots at Beamish. Noelcmn. Industrial chimneys.

All the rest well done for trying. I know I'm not a nice person for setting such a weird comp. but I'm glad you all tried and made the judging difficult for me.

CHEERS Vic.

Thanks for the competition subject Vic....and your critique. Loved Tim's winner. My congrats also to JAK, David and Noel. Quite agree with your comments on my entry....the picture was more about the Gateshead Sage than the Newcastle chimneys.

I just like them in a strange way!!
Congratulations to the other podia winners, too... as a roofologist, I loved the varicose interpretations.....
I will be back with a competition subject very soon.... and before I open my selfiepresent!!
It is a K-3iii and you won't hear a squeak out of me after my wife allows me to open it!

Well done everyone.

And thank you for the judging and comments. I did not have the EXIF but did mention the camera and lens used in a comment.

All the best.

Congrats Dromfit, like the judge, I like the humour in that image. And extended to JAK for the 2nd spot and my fellow 3rd placed davidwozhere. Thanks to our Judge for the challenge and C&C's. a chellenge that produced some very interesting images. Certainly agree with the other's sentiments-nothing weird about the challenge. Happy Birthday Tim.

Bit behind as usual ! Thank you for the third place with Noel. This was a fun contest - thank you for coming up with it and for your concise (and accurate) comments. And a great, fun job for Tim's birthday. Hope you had a good one!
