Many thanks to you all for a very good set of entries to “A Craftsman at Work”. Any one of the entries could be considered as the winner but I had to make my choice and here are a few brief comments…
Crafty Squirrel by Perspicador. Very good idea and photograph. It came as a surprise interpretation of the competition title but quite acceptable.
Jim Lycett Master photographer by davidtrout. A stunning portrait with the added interest of the camera equally stunningly shown.
The Blacksmith by tyronet2000 shows details of everything very well together with the craftsman at work.
Cigar Maker by vic cross. Craftsman shown very well holding a cigar in production. An interesting shot not often seen.
Norman at Work by John Riley. First class action shot showing the movement of hammer and chisel very effectively and the character of the craftsman.
Artist at Work by Noelcmn shows the work and the artist well but I feel the artist is too camera aware and a different pose would have been better.
Making and mending by retsoor. The photo is very good portraying the title (of both the competition and the one given by the author) and showing the craftsman with a boat in the background. I rather think this may have given more impact in colour.
So 1st Norman at Work
2nd Jim Lycett Master Photographer
All the others 3rd!
Regards, John.

Well done John. That's the second time you've won with that one. Week 658 if I'm not mistaken. I'm not complaining just commenting. After all you gave me a win with a one I had used before and got 2nd. with some weeks earlier. Hay Hoe on with the show.

Congrats John, worthy winner! and the 2nd placed Davidtrout. And to the other John for the Competition and the judging exercise. A comment on my submission. I do have another one in which the artist is busy painting, but felt that one gave a bit of interaction with the photographer. Snap shot really, even if it was "staged". I had been chatting to him prior to taking the shot and arranged it that he will look twoards me when I called his name!
