Thank you all for your entries, as usual, not an easy exercise, vascillating between images that I thought should be the winner. Here are some of my thoughts
MHOL190246-Mating Moths –Great shot, lovely pop of red and black against all that greenery! Composition and colors spot on, as is the DOF. And nice and sharp too!

Tyronet2000- Mannequins-Marks and Spencer- Love this, leading lines, vanishing points and repetition blend wonderfully in this image. How you managed to keep out the usual clutter of a retail store is excellent, as well as minimal reflections of those lights. And a sense of movement, almost sci-fi effect, anchored by that pillar makes for a super composition. I doubt if a color version of this would have the same impact!

Johnwnjr-Mosaic- Fantastic! I have chosen this as the winning image for a few reasons. 1) The eye of the photographer to see and exploit an opportunity. 2) Execution and processing to give this flat floor a 3 dimensional effect. 3) The composition and angle the photographer used. 4) Use of repetition, both color and shapes. Pity about all those white spots, but then again, it is a floor after all!

Perspicador-Mallards- Nice one! I like the optical illusion there, making you look twice. Gotta love that pop of green of the male! Good catch on their haste to get away! No issues with color and composition.

Nigelk-Morning- Morning to you too.Lovely! Sunrises imho, are not appreciated as much as sunsets, which is a pity. Just breathe in that atmosphere of a new day. I like the composition on this- Farm? I detect some muted lines in the bottom right hand corner, with all those layers of colors and just a hint of flare! The wider landscape perspective works well! Let’s not leave out the silhouettes!

Davidtrout-Meditation- Another fantastic shot-just have a look at all the details in this portrait. You could count the hairs, but I’ll stick to counting just the wrinkles. Complementary colors, bokeh and sharpness make for a great portrait. And wonderful composition! Sell it to him and make a buck!

PRYorkshire-Man- Graphic is the word that came to mind when I viewed this-image of power and strength, and I keep thinking of Hulk when viewing this. Excellent composition,. That eye looks all too real! And as with davidtrout’s image, the details are fantastic! And the monotone only enhances the power.

Vic cross-Multiple Magnificent Magenta Motors- well yes, I’ll enjoy all of these, being a lover of old vintage cars though I can gather yours is more akin to a passion . This is really nice montage. All at the same spot? All shot on the same day? Or just done in PP? In any event, there is a lot of interesting things to observe, different compositional elements, variations in color, and some with flare/haze. Good promotional stuff!

Flan-Monet, Men of the tide- and your license paid off. Not just painterly, but abstract enough! Super colors and the movement is a nice effect! Light streaks are –well, difficult things to control, but you pulled it off, they contribute nicely here!

Simonmac-And I do still love you-Mannequins- Another-straight-from-a-sci-fi-movie image, and would fit well for this month’s “sinister” challenge if it was not for the date! I’m liking all the reflections and light streaks in this one, adding to the somewhat somber mood. Nicely composed, and the B/W works well too!

JAK- Music in the Museum, uhm, you’ve managed to capture that atmosphere of a museum very well, and I appreciate the use of that harsh light coming in from the left. Nicely composed, and typically of any museum shot, clutter is unavoidable. Looks all too real! Such fine details you got here, right down to the wall paper! Good one!

1st Spot to Johnwnjr for reasons given above
2nd spot to Davidtrout for his wonderfully details of that portrait of a man meditating.
3rd spot to Tyronet2000-Mannequins

HM to PRYorkshire for that graphic portrayal of a man!

Over to you John!

Thanks for the round up Noelcmn,
I wouldn’t disagree with the winning photograph.
It’s a fine composition of a two dimensional surface that plays wonderful tricks with ones eyes so congrats to Johnwnjr and the runners up.
