Thanks for the joint 3rd place Vic. A good choice of subject that attracted a good number of entries and not an easy one for you to judge. Well done to MHOL190246 a worthy winner.

Well, that was a cracking good challenge, good number of entries, and some cracking good images, that must have made the judging exercise very difficult. I am therefore honored to be on the podium. Congrats MHOL190246, and concur with PRYorkshire, worthy winner. And extended to Pooneh for his worthy 2nd spot, and also to my fellow 3rd placed PRYorkshire, SSF1957, and Retsoor. Thanks to Vic, for setting an ever so interesting challenge and judging exercise. Glad we made life difficult for you

Noel. It was my own fault. BUT you are a rotten lot for making it so hard for me and having to disappoint so many good ones. I did what I set out to do and learned a lot from you all.

(1) In the cage. Nice as it is it is an owl in a cage not a "STRUCTURE"
What Nonsense! Try telling the bird its prison is not a STRUCTURE or part thereof!

Hi Rodney. What I meant was the owl itself is not a structure but a bird IN a structure. Sorry if I upset you. But you can't please all the people all the time. Only some of the people some of the time.

First. Thank you for a good turnout.
My reason for setting this brief was to see how you all handled Light & Shade & DOP Sharp focus Back to Front. I've been there done that and sometimes found it difficult.
I'm sorry if I didn't make it quite clear but what I wanted was the "INSIDE" of a "STRUCTURE" and not the contents.
Well here we go.
(1) In the cage. Nice as it is it is an owl in a cage not a "STRUCTURE"
(2) Interior walls of lonely. A 'photo of 'photos. See (1)
(3) Look Up. Converging verticals. Nice but not sharp front to back.
(4) As evening falls. Nice and moody. I think a little P.S. to lift the shadows.
(5) Kew Gardens. Nice one. It shows the "STRUCTURE" Sharp front to back and the people are incidental and don't distract from the brief.
(6) Mottisfont Cellarium. Again nice and moody. Maybe a tiny bit of P.S. on the floor and roof but I like it.
(7) Climbing the wall. Is it inside? I can't tell. It's someone climbing a wall. See (1).
(
(9) Inside famous Scissors Arch. Once more I think a bit of P.S to lighten the shadows and bring out some detail would help.
(10) Through the Archway. This one shows what I've been waffling on about. You can see the detail in the foreground stonework as well as the far window.
(11) Curiosity. Light and shade and good detail.
(12) Peribleptos Monastary Church. Plenty of detail and colour but I have nowhere for my eye to settle.
(13) A little light. All sharp, good detail, possibly could do with 1/2 a stop more light.
(14) Kakslauttanen Artic Resort. Well I did say Igloos. The people are incidental. It's "INSIDE" Different.
(15) Bedroom Restoration. It is "INSIDE" it is a "STRUCTURE" Interesting twist.
(16) Looking Down. Interesting viewpoint. Well exposed.
(17) Flat Rod Tunnel. I think this is a candidate for some HDR treatment. Over exposed at the entrance.
(1
(19) Saint Peters Chapel. Good lighting. Sharp from front to back.
(20) Old Chest in the Corner. Nice stonework BUT lots of other stuff. See (1).
I hope I haven't upset to many people but hopefully you can see where I'm coming from. My own shortcomings. You all made it difficult for me.
Here we go then.
1st. Kew Gardens.
2nd. Through the Archway.
3rd. Sorry but I can't separate these next four.
Mottisfor Cellarium. Looking Down. Catholic Church. Saint Peters Chapel.
You lot don't half make life difficult for people like me. Bye For Now folks until the next time.
