At last, you may say, some comments! Although I have been a member of this site for some years, I have never entered (or won) a competition before, so I was unaware of the tradition of commenting on entries individually. So thanks for the nudge go4it.
Mozart Composing by Candlelight
I liked the colour composition of this image, it is a pleasing package representing a musical stave the way it does.
Witpoortjie Waterfall
The waterfall certainly hits the subject matter spot on. A snesible and practical crop showing the main area of action. I did find myself wondering what the bigger view was like, but that is not a criticism of the image.
Loco Motive
An attractive shot and gives a fine impression of motion. I suppose we are talking semantics here, but as a long exposure, I'm not sure that 1/50th is not quite what I had in mind, but I'm aware that is purely personal opinion.
Hello
I liked this image, for those who have not tried it, it's tricky working backwards. The light intensity is perfectly good and the background has blacked out completely to give maximum effect to the light. It was in my short list.
Rings around a little Planet
Ultimately my choice for first place, the author has worked this really well. Arriving at a perfect circle without spurious variations and also at the right intensity must have taken patience and repetition (I may be wrong ...it would if it were me!). More than anything else it gained the prime spot for pure inventiveness.
Star Trails
Being picky, I discounted this image because it was created as a composite rather that a single long exposure. The effect certainly produces exactly the effect that a long exposure would have done. I when I set this comp. I wondered if anyone would have used the 'star following' option that is available on the K-1.
Five Weeks 'til Christmas: Collins Street, Melbourne
Another really fine 'true' long exposure. As I mentioned on a previous comment, this type of image is also quite diffcult to capture in a way that produces a pleasing image as this one does. I especially like the static portion of the image that acts as an interesting centrepiece.
Peach
It has an abstract beauty of its own, but it doesn't convince me as a long exposure. Taken at 1/10th of a second but with an ISO of 6400 it must have been very dark to start with. Also a lot of noise overall.
Scarborough Foreshore at Night
Much of my commenting on 'Collins Street, Melbourne' apply here. Absolutely on the mark as a long exposure with an interesting 'feature' static on the left of the image. I found the tone a little on the cold side and perhaps a little fuzzy focussed.
First Place: Rings around a little Planet by GlynM
Second: Five Weeks 'til Christmas: Collins Street, Melbourne by i-Berg
Third: Hello by Snakey
Thanks to all who took the trouble to compete and I hope you can accept my apologies for failing to provide comprehensive judging notes in good time.

Thanks for the comments now and well done for your first go at them.
As to any fuzzy focus, it was raining at the time which obviously causes diffraction, however near objects like the car number plate are less affected! As to the tone, that can depend on the monitor settings, get it right for one it'll be off on another. Here it looks on the warm side of neutral, I wouldn't want to make it look any warmer.

Many thanks Graham for the nice set of comments. I was terrified when I had to write up my first competition and appreciate how much effort and commitments it takes.
Once again many thanks for choosing my little ringed planet for the win. I remember that it took several attempts to get it to work.
Congratulations to my fellow podium sitters i-Berg plus Snakey and everyone else for a great set of interpretations.
