I really am a fan of live music, I would like this competition to evoke the emotion of a live performer or band. Feel free to be creative. |

Yes, congratulations to the winner. Hopefully some comments will follow from our judge, we seem to have had a bit of a run of silence from our judges recently, so let's stem the tide of that! The judge's comments offer very valuable feedback to us all.
Best regards, John

What a pleasant surprise!
I'll be back later with a subject for this week's competition.

Im really sorry I thought I had posted my thoughts here they are again;
Three Recorders
I Love the watercolor effect but the 'bass ' recorders vivid red seems to jar with the image.
Brothers In song
very colourful but I didn't quite get the passion of them singing their lungs out
Hit me with your rhythm stick, love the moment with the drum stick ( this gets my second place)
Thai Live music
I spend a lot of time in Thailand and Indonesia, These guys look like they're spoiling for a fight!
Step In Time
Crisp nice black and white I can hear the foot tapping my winner this week
Bay Beat Love the twinkle on the brass Mudge
Billy Joel - One of my fave artists ( this is best viewed large) Interesting composition My third place
Angel delight nice colour
Frank and Walters - Classic rock pictures My fave is top right
Thanks to all that entered although I have to say I expected more because all you have to do is go to your local jam night and the musos love to see you taking pictures.

"the 'bass' recorders vivid red seems to jar with the image."...
Yup, I fully agree...
but I've been through the pix of that night, including the original of this...
Redfield FineTouch didn't alter the colour...
it was that ghastly!
In some it is worse...
and she used a traditional recorder mouthpiece for one number...
that pic has a terrible red slash coming from that corner...
even worserer still!!
Unbalances everything and drags the eye off the picture...
Made a lovely sound tho'...
first time I've actually, knowingly, seen and heard the instrument...
about fifty percent of the concert was music that they had commissioned.

Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...
