Judge Nigelk
Closing Date 23/05/2021
Description
Greetings all,
This weeks competition is all about work. Places of work , people at work, from offices to road repairs to retail, I'd like to see your images that show some aspect of Working Life.
As usual weekly competition entries can have been taken at anytime but, must have been taken with a Pentax camera or a direct clone. The winner that I select will be expected to set and judge next weeks competition.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing your "Working Life" images
Best to you all

Morning all and thank you for entering the weekly competition.
Now the tough bit for me. Please remember that I have to make a judgement it is okay to disagree, it is after all only my opinion.

Basic Training by tyronet2000
Great image to start with, uncluttered but a lovely grouping and there is enough here to guess at what they are doing/going to do. Works a treat.

Driving the train by Perspicador
Bright vibrant colours on a sunny day as our drivers wait for the off.

Ploughing the old fashioned way by MHOL109246
Lovely to see these heavy horses being used for what they where bred for, ploughing in action. In this view we can see the enactors costumes but still, part of me wishes they where coming towards us.

Lubrication by davidtrout
I'm liking all the detail of the engine drive gear but, what makes this image for me is the look of concentration on the chaps face as he puts the cap back on the oil reservoir, nicely framed also. Good one.

Florist at Work by jofford
Looks like a demonstration, clearly he's a bit of an actor, playing to you and your camera makes for an enjoyable fun image.

Hanging Around by Simonmac
These guys are well positioned to each other to give the impression of a diagonal, working on this surreal building skin. Like the B&W and I'm guessing a dark vignette or they happen to be in a lozenge of light anyhow, that keeps us in the frame and on the subjects, nice shot.

A Deliveroo rider in Liverpool city centre by newbie50user
I like your decision to moderate your shutter speed and pan, it makes the image. Nicely done.

Hard at it by Noelcmn
Another uncluttered image giving us the structure of the scaffold and the two guys actively engaged in erecting it and a tree top which helps say "working at height". Makes for a very good working image.

Work in Progress by Flan
Side by side sculptor and sculpture another good image and I like it but, whilst I can still see wood chips in the air I just wish that chain was still in contact with the sculpture it wood lift the image from good to top notch. Please don't get me wrong, I do like it.

All hands to the wheel by retsoor
A nice amount of the yacht/ship in the image to help explain this guys working environment. The B&W helps simplify and lets us see this chap engrossed in his work. Good working shot.

Haddon Girl by johnriley
Again we have just the right amount around our subject to tell us the viewers about her environment and what she is doing. Lovely costume, these enactors put so much effort into their appearance and activities captured very well here.

Oh no I've got give places and choose the winner. Oh man........

1st Place:- Basic Training by tyronet2000
